The Age of iQuarius Tour Hits the Road
By Mike WilsonCanon wanted to demonstrate how customers could achieve outstanding print quality by using a new, cutting-edge water-based ink, iQuarius, on Canon’s revolutionary line of digital inkjet presses. Canon decided to partner with printers that utilized iQuarius as part of their digital inkjet offerings for a series of open house-style events where select invitees could experience how pairing iQuarius with digital inkjet can create offset-quality print in a variety of applications.
Canon was searching for a unique, attention-grabbing design concept that would eventize these open houses via dynamic promotional collateral that showcased the exceptional print quality and versatility designers and printers could achieve with digital inkjet.
Taking a cue from the popular rock song, The Age of Aquarius, we dubbed these events The Age of iQuarius, adopting a rock and roll tour promotion concept to create event marketing packages that let the quality of digital inkjet grab the mic and belt it out.
For each of The Age of iQuarius tour events, we designed custom admission-like tickets, itineraries of event programming, name badges, notebooks, welcome kits, and tour posters, complete with an augmented reality (AR) integration that launched an informational video about the power of pairing iQuarius with Canon’s line of digital inkjet presses.
The tour posters and event tickets featured renderings of the host city’s skyline, and bi-fold thank you cards demonstrated the potential for variable data printing (VDP) to showcase how Canon’s digital inkjet presses can harness the power of personalization to create custom print pieces.
We also designed the posters and welcome kits to feature #AgeOfiQuarius to help these events trend on social media and create a more multi-channel approach to event marketing.
