An Innovative Approach to Showcasing Inkjet Paper
By TrekkCommercial printer LawrenceInk wanted to demonstrate the exceptional versatility and creative possibility of digital inkjet by creating a swatchbook using its house uncoated sheet, Accent® Opaque. The swatchbook needed to highlight how the color and print quality of digital inkjet can help customers bring their designs and messages to life, and the project also looked to emphasize the importance of paper and press in creating standout print pieces.
We designed The Guide to Inkjet Paper to shine a spotlight on how the right paper and digital inkjet device can create stunning print that truly turns heads.
Printed using on the Canon varioPRINT iX sheetfed inkjet press using Accent’s new line of heavyweight paper stock, The Heavyweights, our design concept features a series of complex images that use varying light gradation, a wide range of vibrant colors, and a handful of textural components, all in service of creating a more engaging print experience.
The graphic elements of the swatchbook are enhanced by a bold use of negative space, and the color choices create a dynamic, visually engaging experience. The swatchbook also lets the quality of the individual sheets take center stage to help fuel a designer’s creativity and inspiration.
We also wanted to take a more interactive approach with The Guide to Inkjet Paper. Incorporating an augmented reality (AR) experience allows us to tell a more complete, compelling story about the wide variety of factors that go into creating a high-quality inkjet print project, everything from the paper to the press.
